I went to Paradisus Rio De Oro in Holguin Cuba for a one week vacation. It was truly like a paradise. I wasn’t too crazy about having to have such a long ride (45 minutes) from the airport to the hotel but I really ended up liking the ride. It was peaceful and beautiful and a very comfortable bus. We had a great tour guide that made it fun and interesting.
When we reached the hotel and walking into the lobby the paradise began. It was probably one of the nicest hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in. Our room was very beautiful but quite a walk to get to. The fortunate thing is that they have there trolley cars that literally pick you up at your room and take you to the main hotel or to the beach area. I being on vacation and extremely lazy loved this feature. The beach at Paradisus Rio de Oro was like white powder sand and stayed cool on your feet. I remember this was one of the first beaches I had been on where the sand didn’t burn my feet walking on it. The beach and water were so beautiful I spent a lot of time there and took turns between here and the massive pool with an amazing swim up bar. We did take one day off to go swimming with the dolphins which was a really fun experience. One of the things I loved most was that you actually get time to spend with the dolphins. It was costly but worth every penny. We were able to book most of our dinners in the A la Carte restaurants that were exceptionally delicious. We even had a few meals at the buffet that were also surprisingly very good. The only thing I can say looking back it that I had taken this trip with a friend of mine and although we had a really fun time I think it would have been a better vacation with a significant other. It was a very romantic place or very cozy and since It is very remote, in my opinion I just think it would be more appropriate for those romantic trips.
